With an estimated cost of up to $100 billion (2.3 trillion crowns), this project signifies a monumental leap in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
The project is expected to be primarily financed by Microsoft. The data center will house a supercomputer named ‘Stargate’, equipped with millions of specialized chips. These chips are designed to support AI tools from OpenAI, marking a significant advancement in AI technology.
The Stargate supercomputer is set to be the largest among a series of supercomputers that the two companies plan to build in the United States over the next six years. The construction process is divided into five stages, with Stargate being the final stage. Microsoft is also reportedly working on a smaller supercomputer for OpenAI, which is expected to be launched as part of the fourth stage in approximately two years.
